James Parker – accounts assistant

I enjoy spending time with my recently expanded family: sleepless nights are here!

After a long career in engineering I fancied a change and began studying with the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians). While completing my studies I spent two years in a number of corporate accounting roles where I gained some valuable experience. After passing my final exams I began searching for an accounting role that matched my areas of interest. In November 2009 I was lucky enough to be offered a position with Grafton Jones as an accounts assistant.

I am part of the accounts team and my main duties include VAT returns, accounts preparation and some personal tax work. I work on accounts for businesses of all sizes and value the variation and experience this brings.

I also enjoy keeping fit, golf, learning the guitar and going to the Memorial Stadium to watch Bristol Rovers. I also play for a pool team in the Bristol Pool League which takes me to pubs all over Bristol. We play to win, but what ever the result, the beer always tastes good!
